For the third consecutive year, Ezohiko partnered with Aluna Festival to design and deploy a full network and WiFi infrastructure. This infrastructure served the event teams, Weezevent for cashless payments and access control — and for the first time in 2024, it also supported CCTV surveillance of sensitive areas for the security control room.
No more MESH — everything wired this year
The first deployment took place in mid-June, ahead of the arrival of the technical and administrative teams.
A UDM Pro handled local network and internet security.
Its integrated controller managed all network components — VLANs, SSIDs, and more.
With support from the Aluna camping team, we leveraged the existing optical fibre runs on site. The site’s history means different fibre types are present, but with the right transceivers this posed no difficulty.
The GBIC ports on Unifi switches are compatible with a wide range of manufacturers, making adaptation straightforward.
With no areas left without fibre coverage, we were able to distribute Unifi switches across the whole site and dispatch the WiFi access points from them.

A deployment built on thorough simulation
The site spans 54,000m² and presents real complexity — uneven terrain and multiple buildings.
We used Unifi’s software to simulate access point placement before deployment.
In total, 30 Ubiquiti WiFi access points were deployed across the Unifi range — U6-LR, AC Mesh Pro and AC Mesh models.
These were connected via 24 Unifi switches — USW 16 PoE and USW Flex units installed in outdoor-rated enclosures.
A UDM Pro handled supervision and traffic control, sending real-time alerts directly to our phones.

The weather was tough — again
The first two days, equipment came under strain from the heat.
Despite outdoor-rated enclosures, the site is heavily exposed to direct sunlight. With temperatures exceeding 37°C, we observed increased PoE power consumption on several links.
Thanks to real-time supervision, we were able to isolate failing equipment quickly and compensate with dedicated PoE injectors.
On the third day, a violent storm hit the site at around 7pm. The good news: it was brief — just fifteen minutes. Long enough to bring down the internet connection, but post-incident analysis confirmed the issue was upstream of the site. Mobile networks were also affected.

Why does this matter for your business?
Because it is the same equipment we deploy for our clients. The experience gained in demanding, real-world conditions is what allows us to manage your infrastructure remotely and anticipate your needs before they become problems.
