Backups — DRP — BCP
80% of businesses that lose their data close within 12 months.
This figure isn’t meant to scare you. It’s here to ask the question: if your data disappeared tonight, what time would you reopen on Monday morning?
Three levels of protection. One thing in common: don’t improvise.
💾 Backup
A copy of your data, local or cloud, updated regularly. It’s the foundation. Without it, nothing else is possible. With it alone, restoration can take several days — and the result is never guaranteed if backups have never been tested.
🔄 DRP — Disaster Recovery Plan
A documented and tested scenario to restart your operations after a disaster — fire, flood, ransomware, total failure. The difference from a standard backup: the DRP defines exactly who does what, in what order, with what recovery time objective. Ours guarantees recovery in 4 hours.
⚡ BCP — Business Continuity Plan
Where the DRP restarts after an interruption, the BCP prevents the interruption. Your teams switch to a backup infrastructure without stopping. Reserved for operations where every hour of downtime has a significant cost.
40%
of failures are caused by human error
85%
of breaches originate from inside the company
80%
of businesses that lost their data close within the year

Frequently asked questions
Backup, DRP, BCP — what business owners ask
What is the difference between a backup and a DRP?
A backup is a copy of your data. If something goes wrong, you restore — but this can take hours or days, and the result depends on the quality of the backup and when it was last tested. A DRP is a complete standby infrastructure, activatable within a few hours, with documented and regularly tested procedures. The two are complementary.
Are my current backups sufficient?
The real question is: when did you last test a restore? A backup that has never been tested can fail silently for months. We regularly find that businesses thought they were protected — but they weren’t. A free audit answers this question precisely.
How much does a data loss cost an SME?
For an SME with €1M in turnover, each day of downtime represents approximately €4,500 in lost revenue. Add to that emergency provider costs, contractual penalties, loss of client trust and potential GDPR fines. A 72-hour incident without a DRP can represent €20,000 to €100,000 in total impact.
Does the cloud replace a DRP?
No. Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace do not back up your data beyond 30 days. An accidentally deleted file, ransomware encrypting your synchronised OneDrive — the cloud does not protect against these scenarios. A DRP covers what the cloud does not.
How long does it take to set up a DRP?
If your infrastructure already runs on Proxmox, one day is enough to deploy replication and configure the failover VPN. On other environments, allow one to two weeks including the testing phase. The preliminary audit is free and allows us to define the precise schedule.
