Secure remote access
Your staff work from anywhere.
Your data stays protected.
A professional VPN encrypts all your team’s connections and gives them access to company internal resources — from home, a hotel, or a coworking space — exactly as if they were in the office.
Without a VPN, your network is open to anyone who knows where to look.
On public WiFi — a café, hotel, or station — data in transit can be intercepted. A password entered, an email opened, a connection to your business software: all of this is accessible without proper protection. A VPN creates an encrypted tunnel between your employee’s device and your company network. What travels inside cannot be read from outside.
🔒 End-to-end encryption
All data exchanged between the device and the company is encrypted. Impossible to intercept, impossible to read without the key.
🏢 Access to internal resources
Shared servers, business software, printers, NAS — your staff access them remotely exactly as they would in the office, without exposing them to the internet.
📱 All devices
PCs, Macs, smartphones, tablets — protection extends to all your staff’s devices, regardless of the network they use.
What we set up
We choose the solution that fits your infrastructure.
There is no one-size-fits-all VPN solution. Based on your team size, existing infrastructure and usage patterns, we identify and configure the most suitable solution — without selling you unnecessary complexity.
Firewall appliance
Unifi, Stormshield, Sonicwall — integrated into your network infrastructure, it handles VPN and perimeter security in a single device. The cleanest solution for businesses with fixed premises.
Open source VPN server
pfSense or OpenVPN deployed on your infrastructure — performant, licence-free, designed for organisations that already have a server in place.
Synology or QNAP NAS
If you already have a NAS in place, it often includes a native VPN server. We configure and secure it properly — the most cost-effective solution for smaller structures.
The VPN is also the technical component that allows your teams to connect to your backup infrastructure in the event of a disaster. That’s why it’s an integral part of our PRA as a Service offering — the VPN tunnel is configured and tested twice a year, so your staff know exactly how to connect when it really matters.
Frequently asked questions
Professional VPN for SMEs — what we’re asked
What’s the difference between a consumer VPN and a professional VPN?
A consumer VPN like NordVPN or ExpressVPN hides your IP address and encrypts your internet connection. A professional VPN does that, but also connects you directly to your company’s internal network — servers, business software, printers — with per-user access rules and activity logs. They’re not the same tool and they don’t serve the same need.
How long does it take to set up a VPN?
On an existing infrastructure with a Unifi appliance or a Synology NAS already in place, half a day is typically sufficient. For a complete pfSense solution on a new server, expect one to two days including testing and client configuration. We document everything and train your teams.
Do I need a dedicated server for the VPN?
Not necessarily. If you already have a NAS, a Unifi appliance, or an available virtual machine, we can often build on the existing setup. The initial audit determines what makes the most sense for your infrastructure.
Does a VPN slow down the connection?
Some latency is inevitable due to encryption, but it is imperceptible in everyday use — messaging, business software, file sharing. On fibre connections, the VPN is unnoticeable. On slower connections or for large data transfers, we tune the configuration to minimise the impact.
VPN and remote working — GDPR compliance?
A professional VPN contributes to GDPR compliance by ensuring your clients’ data does not travel in plain text over public networks. It alone is not sufficient to guarantee full compliance, but it is among the expected technical measures — particularly for professions handling sensitive data (healthcare, legal, accounting).
