For the second year running, Ezohiko supported Aluna Festival with the deployment and management of its network and WiFi infrastructure. But what does deploying a network at a music festival actually involve?
A wired and WiFi network for the event teams
Two weeks before the event, an initial deployment gives the administrative and technical teams everything they need to work on site.
We set up 3 VLANs and 3 SSIDs: one for administration, one for technicians, and one for Weezevent, which manages access control.
Coverage begins with the village area — for access control at the catering zone and the administrative bungalows.
An optical loop runs around the entire site, connecting all the strategic points:
- Entrances for ticket checking
- Stages for technical production
- Food and drink villages for cashless payments
- Weezevent bungalows

Supervision for proactive problem management
In total, 54,000m² needed to be covered. We deployed 26 Ubiquiti WiFi access points from the UniFi range across several models: U6-LR, AC Mesh Pro and AC Mesh.
These were connected via 18 Unifi switches — USW 16 PoE and USW Flex units in outdoor-rated enclosures.
A UDM Pro handled supervision and traffic control, with real-time alerts sent directly to our phones.

Three days of high-pressure operation
The first evening brought a storm — the kind of violent downpour that can strike suddenly and intensely.
Within an hour, the electrical network came under serious stress. Surge-protected extensions tripped the distribution boards.
Thanks to real-time supervision, we were able to isolate the failing equipment quickly.
We lost two U6-LR access points to water ingress — they are not rated for outdoor use. A lesson noted for future deployments.
The remaining two days ran without incident, despite record attendance: nearly 54,000 festival-goers passed through the site.

Why does this matter for your business?
Because it is the same equipment we deploy for our clients. Real-world conditions — storms, record crowds, round-the-clock operation — are exactly what proves the reliability of a network setup. This experience is also what enables us to manage your infrastructure remotely and anticipate your needs.
